This craft project is easy to make and can either be a Halloween or Thanksgiving place holder or decoration. The materials are few and not expensive.
Necessary supplies:
1. Egg carton
2. Small point black Sharpie
3. Orange craft paint
4. Green craft paper
5. Glue
6. Scissors
Cut an even number of cups from the egg carton depending on how many pumpkins that you would like to make.
Glue the larger ends of the two cups together and allow to dry. You can put sand or a few gravel inside to weight the place holder.
Paint the entire surface orange and allow to dry.
Design the pumpkin face with the Sharpie if you are using as a Halloween decoration.
Cut a narrow slot across the top of one of the halves and insert your name card written on the green craft paper and glue.
If you are using as a decoration only, cut a short slot and insert leaves cut from the craft paper into the slot and glue
This idea of crafting with egg cartons can be varied in many ways:
One is to use one cup of the egg carton painted black and glued to a circular piece of black craft paper to design a Pilgrims top hat.
This hat can be decorated with white and black craft paper to form the buckle.
Place a small rectangular piece of black paper onto a slightly larger rectangle piece of white and glue to the front of the hat.
Mark as a buckle with black sharpie.
