This pin craft project is very simple for working with the younger age groups. You will be limited only by your own imagination. These pins are simple and inexpensive so your will want to make extras to give out as party or class favors. Pumpkin or ghost pins make good projects for the younger children over Thanksgiving and Halloween.
Necessary supplies:
1. Craft foam sheets (white for ghost pins and/or orange for pumpkin pins)
2. Black craft pen or Sharpie marker
3. Hot glue gun or white crafts glue
4. 2 small wiggle eyes for each pin if making ghost pins.
5. Craft scissors
6. Colored makers or Sharpies for decorating pins. (nose, mouth, clothes, etc)
7. Pin backs (1 per pin made)
Cut the shapes out of the foam using white for the ghosts and orange for the pumpkins. Ghost shapes can vary widely.
If you are making pumpkin pins, you and use a small juice can or other similar size round object to make the circles for the pumpkin shape. Shape the top with an indention where the stem was.
Make the faces on the pumpkins and ghosts with the black and colored sharpies.
It is always good to look at pictures to get decorating ideas. Draw clothes, buttons, lapels, etc. on the ghosts.
If you like, you can paste on other objects such as ties to decorate the ghosts even further.
Once you have the pins decorated completely, turn over and glue the pin backs on, allowing to dry before handling.
