Much to my dismay but not necessarily to my surprise, I was "laid off" from the company at which I had been employed for 21 years. The textile industry has struggled in the US for the last 5 years in particular. This has been my livelihood for the last 43 years. It seems to me that this is the best time to take my early retirement and go into marketing full-time. This could have actually been a God-send driving me to press forward faster than I normally would have done. I intend to stay positive about Friday the 13th making the best of the situation and accept the fact that it is actually a "good luck" day instead of a bad one. I have heard it called both ways. This newsletter is a new beginning for me in that I have never attempted to publish one before. All recommendations and comments are welcomed and will be taken in the context in which they are given. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Incredible Hulk was the weekend box office leader with $54.5 million dollars. Marvel Studios is hoping for a better box office lifespan than the previous Hulk movie. No matter what the reviews, this is not my favorite kind of movie even though I have collected comic books for quiet a while with the Incredible Hulk included. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isn't the upcoming presidential election going to be fun... The pickings are slim and in my opinion our future is scary to say the least. This new way of thinking by some, especially the young adults, seems to dispel the fact that the presidency is not a trial and error process but requires a little experience and knowledge that would be deemed necessary to run the country. The biggest problem started when the primary elections turned out to be a contest of 'firsts". The most surprising thing to me was the way that opinions and sides constantly changed with the situation that would influence the outcome in certain areas. Race wasn't going to be an issue. Gender wasn't going to be an issue. Was everyone kidding themselves?
