This has been a fairly lack luster week for me due to the fact that I have been making a lot of contacts in search of possibilities for income opportunities in the future.

My online presence is growing and along with this comes an improvement in my monetary intake.

I have joined some very stable and promising affiliate programs lately that tend to make the outlook for the future a lot brighter. It's amazing to me, how willing most successful online marketers are to work with you and take the time to lend assistance where needed. I know that this is their livelihood but some go the extra mile to help.

My first experience with internet marketing may be considered "getting off on the wrong foot" and did not leave such a good impression with me. With this, I was almost to the point of dropping the whole idea of IM.

The book wasn't cheap and was full of 'pie in the sky" words. The writer considered himself a very important person with very valuable time. There was no contact with him whatsoever after the initial purchase with the exception of a few emails that went out to everyone on his mailing list in an attempt to sell additional products.

My impression of the Gurus, I despise this word experts sounds far more pleasing, has changed considerably in the few years that I have been online. All seem to me to be so reachable when we need help. This is one criteria that I like to use when choosing an affiliate program to join. How willing is the owner to assist you?

I still consider myself a Newbie, this is another of my not so likeable words, maybe amateur because new ideas and products come along every day and we are constantly exposed to the opportunity to learn. This is one of the best aspects of life no matter what our age or experience is.

As this letter started, this week has been very beneficial to me in both my self esteem and self rationalization.

It has help to clear my mind from the negativity of being "laid off" after 21 years with a company that is trying to sell to an industry that has become all but extinct in the United State.

My feelings are that I can now, at least, make an attempt to head in the direction that my future should take. I am contemplating doing some consulting in my industry and increase my presence on the web.

A lot of the textile industry customer are trying to cut back on overhead and wages and I feel that by being able to carry my own benefits, there may by a place for me.

This portion of the newsletter is dedicated to all of you who have and are going through the same time in your life that I am.

Newsletters are a true marketing course for internet marketers. I am speaking in terms of you the recipient not he publisher.

I have been asked, Where have you learned the most about Internet Marketing and the answer would definitely have to be through marketing newsletter.

Probably 99% of the programs that I have joined as an affiliate have come through information learned through newsletters.

There is great information either through the newsletter itself or through the links enclosed.

This is not to say that the information is necessarily by the owner of the newsletter through information or links therein. Sometimes a good baseline for a product is the fact that it appears in several newsletters.

If you subscribe to enough newsletters, you will eventually be able to differentiate between the what I consider true marketers and the "me to wanna make a buck" marketers.

A lot of people online are scared to death to give their name and email in order to subscribe to a newsletter. I hear this from friends all of the time and this was my feelings in the beginning of my internet presence.

Most of our email providers have given us a solution to relieve our spam fears and still receive all of the great information that newsletters provide. With most, you have an option to have several email address assigned to you under your account.

My suggestion to you is to set up an email address to subscribe to nothing but newsletters and other incoming items that you feel uneasy about.

If you have any problems, just close out the address and start a new one. Immediately before closing, transfer all of the good newsletters to the new address. You will find that most people are honest and respect your privacy and will let you opt out at any time. If they stay online they can't afford not to. Try not to use free emails like Hotmail, etc because they sometimes get blocked.

You can also check for an opt-out line for subscribers on each newsletter. This is included with most auto responders. It has worked for me every time.

I set up my present newsletter email address several years ago have hot closed it once with the exception of when I went from AT&T to AT&T DSL. Opting-out to many newsletters have not been a problem either.

Get Smart opened June 20 - PG 13 - Said to have rude humor, action, violence and language. Run time slightly less that 2 hours.

The Love Guru opened June 20 - PG 13 - Written up to have some sexual content, language, drug references, and violence (comical). Run time about 1.5 hours.

Has anyone besides me noticed the likeness of Bill Murray to Milburn Stone who played Doc on Gunsmoke. Look at the picture on the cover of June 16, 2008 National Enquirer. The older he gets the closer the resemblance.

Has everyone had about enough politics for the time being. We are forced to suffer through this at least until November.

This has got to be true or no one would have spent that much money to get a job that pays so little in comparison.

Maybe age should be one of the main criteria in making the decision of who to vote for. The second criteria might be how well off financially they are when they enter the Whitehouse.

We know that the perks and benefits for all politicians are nothing compared to the perks and benefits after their elections.

Maybe if we voted for the oldest and richest candidate available we could help bring the playing field closer to our level.

When the job runs out, let everyone basically play by the same rules. I understand that some would still need protection and some benefits but should they live such a life of luxury at the common man's expense.

I know that most politicians have lost their sense of reality for the working people and the ones that voted for them. All try to say what their public wants to hear with very little conscience to guide them.

Today, 12.5 million children are overweight in the United States—more than 17 percent. Overweight children are at greater risk for many serious health problems. This initiative promotes the importance of healthy eating and physical activity at a young age to help prevent overweight and obesity in this country.

Note: Not from the Surgeon General but a good tip for children's snacks, especially during the summer, are to keep frozen fruit bars in your freezer. This will suffice as both a snack and a sweet.

Does anyone look for the clever packaging and attributes of some consumer products to increase producer sales.

A few that I have noticed more lately, since all consumer prices have risen, are:

General - Since the price of popular brand potato chips has risen so high, it seem the more "consumer friendly" packaging could be used. We have zip lock bags for a lot of frozen products so what would be wrong with putting potato chips, crackers, and numerous other products in this type of packaging. Sure would improve the shelf life of an abundance of products. The consumer could afford to pay a little more and still get a bargain.

p.s. I would just like to interject a note here that may be helpful to someone. I have seen many people display pages with Google Adsense on traffic exchange websites. If you are one of these people, be careful. At one time Google considered this against their TOS and I assume it still is.
