Welcome, I am running this article again this week because of its importance in any field that you are involved in and especially in Internet Marketing. How many times have you actually started looking for information on a certain subject that you need to advance your successes in business and end up on the other side of the sphere so to speak? This is when you have to set your priorities and direction of efforts and be sure the you are making the most out of your time and concentrating on the most important aspects of your "to do" list. How many of you know what Pareto's Principle is? This is the time that this principle comes into play. Pareto's Principle - The 80-20 Rule - In 1906, Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto created a mathematical formula to describe the unequal distribution of wealth in his country, observing that 20% the people owned 80% of the wealth. After further observations by Dr. Joseph Duran this principle was later extended to say that 20% of something is always responsible for 80% of the results. "vital few and trivial many" The value of the Pareto Principle for us as marketers or managers is that it should reminds us to focus on the 20% that matters as we undertake our daily tasks. Of the things you do during your day, only 20% really matters. This 20% produces 80% of your results. We should identify and focus on those things which produce the most results. When the duties of the day begin to sap your time, remind yourself of the 20% that you need to focus on. If something in the schedule has to slip and isn't going to get done, make sure it's not part of that 20%. Benjamin Franklin once said, "Do you love life? Then do not squander time, for that's the stuff that life is made of." Often times, we find ourselves surfing to and fro among our email boxes or just getting off track from our intended purposes. The internet has a way of doing this to us. Have you ever started looking for some vital information on the web and find yourself completely taken up by something else that we you have run across? Often, we forget our original purpose. As I have discovered through experience, that a lot of these programs are great to work with and the people running them will put forth a every effort to assist you in every way that they can. Your efforts are rewarded if you can get the traffic to your site and get these peoples to interest and make them stay long enough to purchase something, whether it is a product or a service. The main ingredient for a successful website is great content that tells the visitors why they should buy from you. Become an expert in your field. There is enough information on the web that anyone with enough patience and desire can become very knowledgeable in almost any field. The key is to pick something that peaks your interest to a point that you don’t mind taking the time to learn about the subject. Writing about a subject is very easy to do if you have any kind of mastery of the English language and know how to effectively use the search engines. If you are not a professional copywriter, it would be in your best interest to study some effective copywriting methods by some well know professional or professionals. One of the first things that I learned was that we are not selling our customers a product but a solution to one of their problems or a fulfillment to one of their desires. My advice to anyone is to come up with good original content, submit your website to as many Search Engines that are relevant to your content, and optimize make your site for high ranking. Read good articles on ways that will help you gain traffic to your website and try to follow these instructions as closely as you possibly can. Find ways to advertise whether they are free or paid. Pay Per Click or PPC is one of these. You may also want to start an interesting and informative newsletter. I do not mean a sales page but a newsletter that is beneficial to your readers. Most marketing newsletters are nothing more than sales ads for the person sending them. There is not beneficial information only affiliate links. My theory about these is to hit the unsubscribe link as soon as possible. Charles Oxford p.s. I would just like to interject a note here that may be helpful to someone. I have seen many people display pages with Google Adsense on traffic exchange websites. If you are one of these people, be careful. At one time Google considered this against their TOS and I assume it still is.
