| GetawayCrafts is an individually owned company started by my wife and myself when we began raising grandchildren in our home. We had already been participating in Children's Church and grammar school activities with these and other children.
I spent a lot of time in Hobby Lobby , Michaels and other crafting places for ideas and supplies.
My wife and I both have always enjoyed working with our hands. She is very talented with the ability to do flower arranging, some artwork, and other crafts.
I have always had a love for woodworking and wood finishing, jewelry making, and music, among other arts and crafts. I have dabbled in many in my lifetime.
We both still work fulltime jobs. I in textile dyes and chemicals and she in community support working with autistic or children with behavioral problems due to abuse and other factors.
The crafting began for me years ago when I needed something to just get away from the everyday routine. These memories of past years are where the name GetawayCrafts came from.
This craft site has also become a source of relaxation for me and as I get older, I spend less time with the actual crafts and more time reading about them. I greatly enjoy working with this site.
We are a relatively new site and are constantly adding new craft information and ideas. If you have any suggestions or comments please do not hesitate to contact us.
